Special Ed Teacher | Silver City, New Mexico

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available to support a 7th grade middle school caseload of 14 students. This contract position is onsite at a school located in Silver City, NM, and runs through the current school year until May 22, 2026. The role requires expertise in special education practices to provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in the 7th grade class
• Deliver tailored instruction to meet the academic, social, and behavioral needs of students
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusive learning
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and school administrators
• Ensure compliance with applicable special education laws and guidelines

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with middle school students in special education settings
• Strong skills in designing and adapting curriculum to meet individual student goals
• Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 14 students

Location:
