This full-time special education teaching position serves middle school students in grades 6-8 within a resource classroom setting. The role requires delivering specialized instruction to support the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities, fostering their academic growth and social development.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education Teaching certification
- Experience teaching middle school students, preferably in grades 6-8
- Strong understanding of special education laws, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and differentiated instruction methods
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
Location:
- Middle school setting in Simpsonville, South Carolina
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and adapt individualized lessons to meet students’ unique learning goals
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress with parents and the educational team
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and accommodations
