Special Ed Teacher | Spring Valley, Minnesota

A Special Education Teacher position is available to support students in grades 7 and 8 in a K-12 school setting in Harmony, MN (Southeastern Minnesota). This contract role spans the current school year (CSY) and offers flexible daily schedules. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Minnesota special education teaching license and have experience working with middle school students with diverse disabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction in replacement reading, writing, and math, targeting individual student goals.
• Address developmental objectives related to reading, writing, math, social skills, and organizational skills.
• Support a total caseload of 14 students across federal settings 1, 2, and 3:
  • 10 students in Federal Setting 1
  • 3 students in Federal Setting 2
  • 1 student in Federal Setting 3
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
• Collaborate with support staff, parents, and administration to promote student success.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

Qualifications:

• Minnesota Special Education Teaching License is required.
• Experience teaching or supporting students with disabilities in grades 7 and 8.
• Strong skills in adapting instruction in reading, writing, math, and social development.
• Ability to work in varied federal education settings effectively.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Work Hours & Location:

• Location: Harmony, MN (Southeastern Minnesota)
• Flexible schedule options available:
  • 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • 7:45 AM – 3:45 PM
  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
