Special Education Teacher - Springfield, MA

A Kindergarten Special Education Teacher is sought for an elementary school in Springfield, MA, to serve in an inclusion/resource role. This contract position runs for the current school year (CSY) and involves working with a small group of 14 students, rotating between two classrooms. The school day is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to kindergarten students with moderate disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to provide an inclusive learning environment.
• Move between two classrooms to facilitate resource and inclusion services.
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
• Adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents and school staff about student development and needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid PreK-8 Moderate Disabilities teaching certification.
• Experience working with children in special education, preferably at the elementary level.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage a small classroom setting and tailor instruction to individual student needs.

Location: Springfield, MA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
