Special Ed Teacher - Stamford, Connecticut

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with students’ goals and abilities
• Adapt lesson plans to accommodate various learning styles and needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student progress
• Monitor student performance and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress regularly with stakeholders
• Provide a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with middle school-aged students in a special education setting
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavior management techniques
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Patience, empathy, and flexibility to meet the individual needs of students
