Special Ed Teacher - Staunton, Virginia

This position is for a Special Education Teacher serving K-12 students in a school setting, located in Staunton, VA. The role is a contract for the current school year, with an immediate start date. The schedule consists of 8-hour days from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm.

The Special Education Teacher will manage a caseload of approximately 16-18 high school students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role requires a strong commitment to supporting students’ academic and social development through specially designed instruction tailored to their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for assigned students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure effective support.
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to student progress evaluations.

Qualifications:

• Active or in-progress Virginia teaching license with a Special Education endorsement is required.
• Experience working with high school students and managing IEP caseloads preferred.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an educational team environment.
