This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized educational support within a K-12 school setting, focusing on enhancing the learning experience for students with diverse needs. The role requires dedication to creating an inclusive environment that fosters both academic and behavioral growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and support to students identified in special education programs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s abilities and goals
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including behavior specialists and general education staff, to ensure consistency in student support
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate effectively with families and school personnel
  • Support students in both academic and behavioral interventions, particularly within therapeutic and intensive learning programs

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Certification in Special Education for grades K-12
  • Experience working with students across a range of grade levels and abilities, including therapeutic behavior programs
  • Ability to manage small-group instruction and individualized interventions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with students, families, and staff effectively
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment

Location: Storrs Mansfield, CT (K-12 School Setting)
Program Details:

  • Killingly Therapeutic Academy Behavior Program: Grades 5-8 (serving 4 students) and Grades 9-12 (serving 7 students)
  • Grades 2-4 Resource Program (serving 15 students)
  • Grades 2-4 Academic Intensive Learning Program (serving 4 students)

Contract Type: School Year (CSY)
