Grades 6 - 8 Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Teacher - Storrs Mansfield, CT

A certified Special Education Teacher is needed to support high school students in grades 9 through 12 within an inclusion/resource setting. This contract position runs from ASAP through June 11, with working hours from 7:15 AM to 2:30 PM. The role involves managing a mild to moderate special education caseload, providing tailored instruction and support to help students succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized educational instruction to high school students with mild to moderate disabilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion in the classroom
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state guidelines
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching plans as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student performance and needs

Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut Teacher Certification in Special Education (Grades 9-12)
• Experience working with mild to moderate populations in high school settings
• Strong knowledge of inclusion and resource room instructional strategies
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive learning environment
