A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for a Middle School resource setting, working with students in grades 6-8. This contract role is ideal for candidates holding a valid South Carolina Special Education certification, eager to support diverse learners in a dynamic educational environment. The focus will be on creating individualized learning plans, adapting curriculum, and collaborating with staff to enhance student success.

Location:

  • Middle School setting

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specially designed instruction to middle school students with disabilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create inclusive classrooms
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by state and federal regulations
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and concerns
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings to ensure compliance and improve instructional strategies

Qualifications:

  • Valid South Carolina Special Education certification required
  • Experience working with middle school students preferred
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, procedures, and instructional strategies
  • Ability to create differentiated lesson plans and manage classroom behavior effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
