This opportunity seeks a Special Education Intervention Specialist to support K-2 students in a cross-categorical resource room environment. The position involves managing a caseload of up to 12 students, predominantly those with autism or developmental disabilities, with most students spending the majority of their day in the classroom alongside at least one paraprofessional.
Work hours are from 8:20 a.m. to 4:10 p.m., and the contract extends through the current school year, concluding May 29th, with a start date as soon as possible.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering individualized, engaging lessons tailored to meet diverse learning needs
- Developing, implementing, and updating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Coordinating and leading quarterly progress monitoring and reporting
- Facilitating IEP meetings with parents, staff, and other stakeholders
- Collaborating with paraprofessionals to promote a supportive learning environment
- Ensuring compliance with all educational regulations and standards
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Valid Special Education certification appropriate for K-12 students
- Experience working with young children, especially those with developmental disabilities or autism
- Strong skills in adapting instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
- Competence in writing clear, detailed IEPs and reports
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
