Special Education Teacher Online | South Carolina

A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher in a K-12 school setting located in Laurens, SC. This role involves providing specialized instruction within a self-contained classroom serving students with moderate to severe disabilities. The assignment is to cover a maternity leave and is scheduled for the current school year.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized education programs (IEPs) to a class of 10-12 students with moderate to severe disabilities.
• Collaborating with three classroom assistants to support student learning and development.
• Adapting teaching methods and materials to suit students’ needs and abilities.
• Monitoring and documenting student progress and adjusting strategies accordingly.
• Maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
• Experience working with students who have moderate to severe disabilities.
• Ability to manage a self-contained classroom effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with assistants and other educational professionals.
• Familiarity with K-12 educational standards and special education best practices.
