A full-time special education teaching position is available to support middle school students with diverse learning needs in the Thomson, GA area. This contract role runs through May 20, 2026, and requires delivering tailored instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to foster student growth and achievement.
Location: Middle School, Thomson, GA
Contract Duration: Current School Year (CSY) through 5/20/2026
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
- Elementary hours: 8:10 AM – 4:10 PM
- Elementary & High School hours: 7:10 AM – 3:10 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement differentiated curriculum to meet the needs of students with disabilities
- Deliver instruction in compliance with students’ IEP goals and objectives
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, parents, and service providers to support student success
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation
- Ensure adherence to state and federal special education regulations and policies
- Participate actively in professional development activities to enhance instructional skills
- Supervise students during various school activities and support school-wide initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned by administration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major emphasis in Special Education, General Curriculum focus
- Valid Georgia Professional Teaching Certificate in Special Education – General Curriculum
- Experience working in school-based special education settings is preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles and needs
