A middle school in Trenton, NJ is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to cover a full-time leave assignment. This position involves managing a specialized caseload and providing targeted instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach approximately five classes over two days, with class sizes ranging from 7 to 10 students.
- Instruct Life Skills Development (LLD) and Expanding Responsive Instruction (ERI) classes tailored to students requiring specialized support.
- Deliver individualized educational plans aligned with students’ abilities and goals.
- Collaborate with school staff and specialists to ensure students’ academic and social growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Handicapped certification or Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification with a subject area endorsement.
- Experience working with middle school students in special education settings preferred.
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs), differentiated instruction, and classroom management.
- Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Assignment Details:
- Full-time contract position covering leave through April 30, 2026.
- Located in a middle school environment in Trenton, NJ.
