Special Education Teacher in Universal City, TX

A Special Education Teacher position is available for an immediate start in a life skills program near San Antonio, TX. This role supports 9 to 12 students across two openings: one serving elementary grade levels (1st-4th) and another serving intermediate levels (5th-6th). Both positions require dedication to delivering specialized instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of students with various disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction to students with disabilities, including intellectual disabilities (ID), autism (AU), and speech impairments (SI), within a life skills curriculum.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals—each classroom is supported by two paraprofessional staff members.
• Develop and implement education plans in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student growth.
• Communicate regularly with families and school staff regarding student progress and needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Certification.
• Content or Generalist Certification.
• Experience working with diverse disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual student needs.

Location:

• Universal City, TX (near San Antonio).

Hours:

• Depending on the campus, daily hours are either 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
