Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time position at an elementary school in St. George, South Carolina, approximately 45 minutes from Charleston. This onsite role supports students in grades K-5 with a caseload of around 23, providing essential resource support within the classroom environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
- Collaborating with multiple teaching assistants to deliver effective instruction and support.
- Monitoring and assessing student progress and adjusting strategies accordingly.
- Maintaining accurate records and communicating with parents and school staff.
- Participating in team meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably K-5.
- Ability to manage and coordinate with multiple teaching assistants.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of current special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
Location: St. George, South Carolina
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Contract Term: Immediate start through end of school year (EOSY)
