Special Ed Teacher | Warwick, Rhode Island

A Rhode Island middle school seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide instruction and support in a sub-separate classroom for 8th-grade students with intellectual disabilities. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a small caseload of four students, fostering a highly personalized and impactful learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students with intellectual disabilities.
• Collaborate closely with support staff and related service providers to create and implement effective educational plans.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to promote growth and success.
• Maintain thorough documentation and communicate regularly with families and team members to support student development.
• Create an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and confidence.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Rhode Island Moderate (5–12) or Severe Special Education Teaching License required.
• Out-of-state licenses will be considered, with the expectation of eligibility to work in Rhode Island.
• Passion for working with students who have intellectual disabilities and commitment to individualized education.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
