This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher position working with elementary students in a self-contained classroom within a K-12 school setting in Warwick, RI. This contract role aligns with the school year calendar for 2025-2026 and offers approximately 30 to 32.5 hours per week. Teaching assistants will be available to support classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with special education requirements.
  • Deliver instruction and interventions in a self-contained classroom environment to elementary-level students.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods and materials accordingly.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and administration to support student development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
  • Experience working within K-12 educational settings, preferably with elementary students.
  • Ability to work effectively in a contract role throughout the academic year.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work alongside teaching assistants and school personnel.
