A full-time position is available for a Special Education Teacher at an alternative K-12 school located in Waterbury, CT. This role focuses on serving students in grades 7 through 12 and requires dual certification in special education. The position is contracted for the current school year (CSY).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students in an alternative school setting.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings focused on student development.
Qualifications:
- Dual certification in Special Education required.
- Experience working with students in grades 7-12 preferred.
