A middle school special education teacher position is available in Watertown, CT, specializing in a self-contained Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program. This contract role serves a classroom of 5 students, providing tailored educational support to meet their individual needs. The school day runs from 7:30 AM to 2:40 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Create a supportive and structured classroom environment focused on social and emotional learning.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to improve academic and behavioral outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including counselors, therapists, and parents, to enhance student development.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with special education regulations and standards.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
  • Experience working in a middle school setting, preferably in a self-contained classroom.
