Special Education Teacher in Waukegan, IL

This position calls for a Special Education Teacher to support 1st and 2nd grade students within an elementary school setting. The role focuses primarily on resource services and requires Wilson Reading Training. The assignment is a full-time contract through the current school year, with a schedule aligned to the school calendar.

Location:

• Vernon Hills, IL
• Elementary School environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support in resource classrooms for students in 1st and 2nd grades, predominantly 1st grade
• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with a focus on Wilson Reading strategies
• Collaborate with general education staff and parents to support student progress
• Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings

Qualifications:

• Certification in Special Education
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in resource settings
• Wilson Reading Training is required
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 3:15 PM

Duration:

• Immediate start through June 2, 2026
