Key Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State teaching license in Special Education (please submit a PDF copy with your resume)
  • Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher preferred
  • Strong adaptability and comfort in a per diem/substitute teaching role
  • Effective communication and collaborative skills with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and district guidelines

Responsibilities:

  • Step in as a substitute Special Education Teacher on a per diem basis when scheduled
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities
  • Implement and monitor students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and related service providers to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate student needs or incidents as required by the school
  • Support students’ academic and behavioral development in alignment with district goals

This per diem, onsite position runs from January 12, 2026, through June 26, 2026, with availability required Monday through Friday (hours not guaranteed and based on need). This is an excellent fit for educators seeking flexibility while making a real difference in students’ lives.
