Special Education Teacher - Westfield, MA

An Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a Kindergarten position in Westfield, MA. This contract role supports students with moderate disabilities in an inclusion/resource setting, working between two classrooms. The position offers a consistent schedule from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, for the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to a total of 14 students across two classrooms
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to kindergarten students' needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to promote inclusive learning environments
• Monitor and document student progress in accordance with school and legal guidelines
• Facilitate classroom management and foster a supportive, engaging atmosphere

Qualifications:

• PreK-8 Moderate Disabilities Certification is required
• Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in special education settings
• Strong understanding of inclusion and resource teaching models
• Ability to manage multiple classrooms and student needs effectively
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
