A Special Education teaching opportunity is available in Williamsburg, VA, for an elementary school setting focused on supporting 9th-12th grade students in a resource inclusion classroom. This contract position involves working approximately 35 hours per week, managing a caseload of around 18 students with support from paraprofessionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with related services staff to ensure comprehensive educational support.
- Manage classroom activities and provide inclusive educational experiences for 9th-12th grade students.
- Serve as a case manager for assigned students, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia teaching license with a Special Education endorsement is required.
- Ability to confidently write and implement IEPs.
- Experience collaborating with related services personnel.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience is preferred.
