Opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers to support diverse student needs within a K-12 school setting in Willimantic, CT. This contract role spans the current school year (CSY) and offers a chance to contribute to various specialized educational programs.
Positions Open:
- Two teachers for a behavioral program serving Grades 5-8 (4 students) and Grades 9-12 (7 students)
- One teacher for Grades 2-4 resource program (15 students)
- One teacher for Grades 2-4 Academic Intensive Learning Program (4 students)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students' unique learning and behavioral needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and well-being
- Utilize evidence-based strategies within classroom and therapeutic settings
- Maintain detailed records and communicate effectively with families and school staff
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification for K-12
- Experience working with a range of student abilities and age groups
- Strong skills in behavior management, curriculum adaptation, and progress assessment
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
