Special Ed Teacher | Woodbridge, Virginia

This opportunity is ideal for a Special Education Teacher with an active Virginia special education teaching license seeking a short-term engagement during the Extended School Year (ESY). The position spans early July through early August, offering valuable experience supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade across elementary and secondary levels.

Location: Woodbridge, VA
Contract Duration: July 1 through August 1 (with prep days July 1-3)
Daily Hours: Approximately 5 hours for elementary, 5.5 hours for secondary (July 7–August 1)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ unique learning needs in special education classrooms
• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support academic progress during the ESY period
• Collaborate with educational staff to adapt lessons and interventions for diverse learners
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress records for each student
• Participate in preparatory meetings and planning sessions ahead of the instructional period

Qualifications:

• Active Virginia special education teaching license is required
• Experience teaching students from kindergarten through 12th grade preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a contract ESY setting
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
