DHH Teacher | Accomac, Virginia

An educational opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, serving grades K-12. This contract position supports a school setting located in Accomac, VA, for the duration of the next school year (NSY).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Utilize appropriate assistive technology and communication methods to enhance student learning.
• Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Provide support and training to staff and families regarding best practices for Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.

Desired Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• Experience working with K-12 students who have hearing impairments.
• Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and audiological equipment is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a school team and engage with families.
