Apply NowA K-12 educational opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide specialized support within a PreK-6 setting. This contract position offers a meaningful role supporting students in their communication and learning development through direct instruction and collaboration with educational teams.
Location: Mansfield, Texas
Assignment: Contract position, January 5, 2026 – May 21, 2026
Schedule: Full-time or part-time options available, 21-35 hours per week (minimum 3 days up to 5), 7-hour instructional days
Setting: Itinerant role supporting one campus including PreK through 6th grade students
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and interpret audiograms to assess student needs
- Manage a caseload of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, providing tailored instruction and support
- Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to collaborate on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Communicate effectively with educators, families, and service providers to ensure comprehensive support
- Deliver instructional services aligned with students’ Texas Education Agency (TEA) standards and goals
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Deaf and Hard of Hearing teaching license issued by TEA
- Experience working in Texas school settings with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong knowledge of audiological assessments and educational strategies for D/HH students
- Ability to work collaboratively in an itinerant capacity across a campus
