Apply NowA specialized teaching position is available for a Deaf or Hard of Hearing educator serving Carbon and Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive educational programming and support within K-12 settings, tailored to meet the unique needs of deaf and hard of hearing students. The assignment runs on a school calendar basis with an anticipated contract from ASAP through June 12, 2026.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) certification in Special Education with a focus on Hearing Impaired education (mandatory)
- Proven experience in developing tailored instructional programs for deaf/hard of hearing students
- Ability to foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing specialized curricula and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Location:
- Primarily based in Carbon & Lehigh County, PA, servicing multiple school districts within the Intermediate Unit region
- Commitment to 35 hours per week aligned with the school year schedule
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage effective hearing-impaired educational programs within assigned school districts
- Create and maintain classroom environments that support the academic and social development of deaf/hard of hearing students
- Implement targeted instructional strategies to facilitate access to the general curriculum
- Collaborate with educators, families, and specialists to ensure comprehensive support
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all regulatory and program standards
