A dynamic opportunity awaits for a skilled professional specializing in education for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This position focuses on providing tailored instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of K-8 students in an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
- Valid teaching credential with authorization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and best practices
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with K-8 students in an itinerant capacity
Location: Copperopolis, CA (In-person, Itinerant Position)
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor educational programs for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to facilitate inclusive practices
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP documentation
- Provide support and training to staff and families regarding communication strategies and resources
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
