A dynamic opportunity awaits for a skilled professional specializing in education for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This position focuses on providing tailored instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of K-8 students in an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
  • Valid teaching credential with authorization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and best practices
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with K-8 students in an itinerant capacity

Location: Copperopolis, CA (In-person, Itinerant Position)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor educational programs for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to facilitate inclusive practices
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP documentation
  • Provide support and training to staff and families regarding communication strategies and resources
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
