A school district in Denton, TX is seeking a qualified professional to provide specialized educational services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH). This is a part-time, onsite contract position serving an itinerant K-12 caseload within a public school setting. The assignment is scheduled to begin as soon as possible and will continue through the 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional services to K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Monitor student progress and maintain necessary documentation and reports.
- Serve as a resource for hearing peers and school personnel on communication strategies and assistive technology.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with K-12 students with hearing impairments.
- Strong knowledge of educational strategies and auditory/oral communication techniques.
- Ability to manage an itinerant caseload across multiple school sites.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
