A K-12 school in Elk Grove, CA is seeking a skilled Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to support their educational development throughout the school year on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the learning needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with special education teams
  • Utilize appropriate communication methods and assistive technology to facilitate student learning
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Work closely with families and multidisciplinary professionals to foster a supportive learning environment

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching credential with certification or endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working with K-12 students in a special education setting
  • Strong knowledge of communication systems such as American Sign Language (ASL), speech therapy, or cochlear implant technology
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with educators, therapists, and families
  • Commitment to creating inclusive and accessible education experiences

Location: Elk Grove, CA
Assignment Type: Contract for the current school year
