Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the learning needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with special education teams
- Utilize appropriate communication methods and assistive technology to facilitate student learning
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Work closely with families and multidisciplinary professionals to foster a supportive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credential with certification or endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with K-12 students in a special education setting
- Strong knowledge of communication systems such as American Sign Language (ASL), speech therapy, or cochlear implant technology
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with educators, therapists, and families
- Commitment to creating inclusive and accessible education experiences
Location: Elk Grove, CA
Assignment Type: Contract for the current school year
