A K-12 educational opportunity is available in Grants Pass, OR for a teaching professional specializing in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with students, parents, and support staff
- Utilize appropriate communication methods and assistive technologies to support student learning
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support personnel to promote inclusive education
- Provide guidance and support to students and families to enhance educational outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a K-12 setting
- Strong knowledge of communication modalities such as American Sign Language (ASL) and other assistive communication methods
- Ability to design and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and staff
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to special education
