A K-12 educational opportunity is available in Grants Pass, OR for a teaching professional specializing in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This contracted position is for the current school year (CSY) and provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with students, parents, and support staff
  • Utilize appropriate communication methods and assistive technologies to support student learning
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support personnel to promote inclusive education
  • Provide guidance and support to students and families to enhance educational outcomes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a K-12 setting
  • Strong knowledge of communication modalities such as American Sign Language (ASL) and other assistive communication methods
  • Ability to design and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and staff
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to special education
