A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support students in Hilton Head Island, SC. This contract position is for the current school year, focusing on delivering specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of deaf and hard of hearing learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
  • Utilize specialized teaching techniques and assistive technologies to enhance communication and learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a comprehensive support system.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with K-12 students with hearing impairments.
  • Strong knowledge of auditory and visual communication methods, including sign language proficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
