Provide specialized instruction as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for grades K-12 at a contract school in Kenner, LA, supporting students with hearing impairments to maximize their academic and social development. This full-time position entails working 35 hours per week, including 7 hours daily with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, from ASAP through May 22, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students' needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to implement effective strategies and accommodations.
- Utilize specialized resources and technology to enhance learning and communication.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain documentation of student progress.
- Participate in team meetings, IEP development, and professional development opportunities to support student success.
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana DOE Certification specifically for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Experience teaching K-12 students with hearing impairments in a school setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage caseloads and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
