This position seeks a skilled Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education to support students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The role is based in Kenner, Louisiana, within a K-12 school setting, and is available as a contract assignment for the current school year (CSY).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Utilize appropriate communication methods, including sign language or assistive technologies, to facilitate learning.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Engage with families to foster communication and support student development.
- Collaborate with school staff to create an inclusive educational environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience teaching K-12 students with hearing impairments.
