Provide specialized educational support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a K-12 setting, focusing on early childhood through 6th grade. This contract position requires expertise in evaluating students’ needs, interpreting audiograms, and managing individualized education plans. The role involves collaborating with school staff and families to support academic and communication success for young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for students with hearing impairments.
  • Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.
  • Interpret audiograms to effectively monitor students’ auditory status.
  • Manage a caseload of PreK-6th grade students, providing itinerant support at one campus.
  • Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to promote inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) Teaching License required.
  • Experience working in Texas school settings preferred.
  • Strong understanding of audiological assessments and their application in education.
  • Ability to manage multiple students’ needs and coordinate services effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Location and Schedule:

  • Position based onsite in Mansfield, Texas.
  • Available from January 5 to May 21, 2026.
  • Full-time or part-time opportunity (21 to 35 hours weekly), with a minimum of three days per week.
  • Typical day consists of 7 working hours.
