A K-12 educational position is available for an experienced Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. This contract role supports a comprehensive school year and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic learning environment dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instructional plans tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across K-12 grades.
- Utilize specialized teaching methods and communication strategies, including sign language and assistive technologies, to facilitate learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, audiologists, and classroom teachers to ensure a cohesive support system.
- Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to meet evolving educational goals.
- Maintain clear and ongoing communication with parents, guardians, and educational staff regarding student development and educational strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience teaching in K-12 settings with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods.
- Strong understanding of educational technology and accommodations for hearing impairments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Location: Position is based in Monroe, New York, within a vibrant school community.
