Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Mount Airy, North Carolina

An opportunity is available for a part-time educator specializing in supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an elementary school setting. This is a contract position for the current school year, located in Mount Airy, North Carolina. The role primarily involves onsite teaching with the possibility of transitioning to a virtual format in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet the unique learning needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt lesson plans and ensure accessibility.
• Utilize appropriate communication methods, including sign language and assistive technologies.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and administration.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education programs (IEPs).

Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure in Deaf Education or related field.
