A K-12 educational institution in Naperville, IL is seeking a skilled educator specializing in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing for a leave replacement contract position. This opportunity calls for a dedicated professional with the expertise to support and enhance the learning experience of students with hearing impairments across various grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in accordance with K-12 curriculum standards.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments.
- Utilize assistive technologies and communication strategies to facilitate effective learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting instructional methods accordingly.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized education plans.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure in teaching Deaf or Hard of Hearing students.
- Proven experience working with K-12 students who have hearing impairments.
- Strong knowledge of communication modes such as American Sign Language (ASL), lip reading, or auditory-verbal techniques.
