Provide specialized educational support as a Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students serving an itinerant role across preschool to high school levels. This contract position is based near Middletown, Delaware, within a K-12 school setting, and involves working a full 37.5-hour week with daily hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across multiple school locations.
- Collaborate with general educators, specialists, and families to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address students' unique communication and learning needs.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and tools to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Monitor student progress and adapt instructional methods accordingly.
- Participate in professional development and team meetings to stay current on best practices and legal requirements.
- Coordinate resources and communication to ensure consistent support throughout the school year.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Delaware Teaching License for Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in K-12 educational settings.
- Strong understanding of communication strategies, accessibility tools, and individualized instruction for D/HH learners.
- Ability to manage an itinerant teaching schedule efficiently while maintaining strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills for collaboration with school teams, students, and families.
