Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Utilize assistive technologies and communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) or speechreading to enhance accessibility.
• Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records to assess academic growth and social development.
• Provide consultation and resources to families to support student learning at home.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in deaf education.

Desired Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• Experience working within K-12 educational settings supporting students with hearing impairments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
