Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across grades K-12.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with students’ auditory and language needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other support staff to foster student success.
- Utilize various communication methods, including sign language and assistive technology, to enhance learning.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Provide guidance and support to families regarding communication options and educational resources.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of educational strategies and accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Familiarity with relevant assistive technologies and communication techniques.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Valid teaching certification in special education or Deaf education preferred.
Location: Olympia, Washington
Duration: Contract for the current school year
