An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional with expertise in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This full-time position for the 2025-2026 school year entails working in a K-12 educational setting, focusing on providing tailored instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters communication and social skills.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to promote effective learning strategies.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methodologies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP compliance.
  • Provide direct instruction in both one-on-one and group settings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification or endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Strong knowledge of teaching strategies and tools for students with hearing impairments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in K-12 settings, particularly in an itinerant role, is an asset.
