Apply NowA K-12 educational institution in Punta Gorda, FL is seeking a dedicated Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. This full-time position is a 25/26 school year contract designed to support the academic and social development of students with hearing impairments.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong knowledge of communication methods such as sign language and assistive listening technologies
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent classroom management and collaborative skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction tailored to students with hearing impairments
- Develop and modify curriculum and materials to meet the unique needs of DHH students
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and support staff
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress regularly
- Facilitate communication access and promote self-advocacy skills
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

Contract Duration: Full-time, 25/26 school year (NSY)
