This opportunity is ideal for an educator specialized in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing, providing essential instruction and resources tailored to their unique learning needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grade levels K-12
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with each student’s goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, speech therapists, and families to support student success
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Utilize assistive technologies and communication methods appropriate for the hearing impaired
- Maintain thorough documentation of student performance and communication with parents and staff
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Knowledge of communication modalities such as American Sign Language (ASL) and auditory/oral techniques
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment
