A K-12 school in Schnecksville, PA is seeking a skilled Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to support learners across all grade levels during the current school year on a contract basis. This role is integral in providing specialized instruction tailored to the unique communication and educational needs of students with hearing impairments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering individualized and group instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, utilizing appropriate teaching methods and communication modes.
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and support staff to develop and implement effective IEPs.
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting lesson plans to promote academic achievement and social development.
  • Facilitating the use of assistive technologies and managing hearing devices as needed.
  • Providing continuous communication and updates to parents and guardians regarding student performance.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure in Deaf Education or specialized training in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students with hearing impairments.
  • Strong understanding of audiological needs, language development, and accessible educational practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning abilities.
