Remote Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Texas

A specialized teaching position is available for an educator skilled in working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, serving grades K-12. This contract role spans the complete school year and is based in Plano, Texas.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing tailored instruction to students with hearing impairments
• Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with support staff and families
• Utilizing assistive technologies and communication strategies such as sign language to enhance learning
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching approaches accordingly
• Supporting social and emotional development alongside academic needs

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• Certification or licensure in deaf education or hearing impaired teaching
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods appropriate for deaf and hard of hearing learners
• Experience working within K-12 educational settings, preferably in inclusion or specialized programs
• Knowledge of legal requirements, accommodations, and resources related to deaf education
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
