An educational opportunity is available for an experienced or new graduate Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. This contract position serves K-12 students across multiple schools in the area, requiring an onsite presence and the flexibility to travel itinerantly between campuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing from kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Utilize assistive technology and communication strategies tailored to student needs.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with families and staff.
  • Travel between assigned schools as part of an itinerant teaching model.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or related area.
  • Minimum qualifications for K-12 special education teaching.
  • Willingness to work onsite with an itinerant schedule.
  • Open to candidates newly entering the profession, including recent graduates.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule and multiple school environments.
