A K-12 school in Arlington, TX is seeking a skilled professional specializing in education for visually impaired students for a contract position running through the next school year. This role involves providing dedicated support and instruction to visually impaired learners to enhance their educational experience and ensure their access to the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of visually impaired students.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide consultation services, including approximately 20 minutes every six weeks to assist teaching staff and support student progress.
  • Incorporate compensatory minutes into the schedule, with an additional 40 minutes added annually during the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meeting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports to meet compliance standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or equivalent certification.
  • Strong understanding of instructional strategies and assistive technologies for visually impaired students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Familiarity with state and federal special education regulations.

Location:

  • Primary worksite is in Arlington, TX with services provided at a south campus located in Fort Worth.
