A full-time position is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support students in grades K-12 within a school setting in Augusta, GA. This is a contract role lasting through the current school year, with a start date as soon as possible and an end date of May 20, 2026. The role involves itinerant services across 5-6 schools, serving a caseload of 14 students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Manage a caseload of 14 students, providing individualized support and educational plans
- Travel between assigned schools to deliver itinerant services
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the school administration
- Maintain compliance with program requirements and documentation
Qualifications:
- Active Georgia licensure or credentials as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) required; candidates must confirm current status with documentation
- Experience teaching students with visual impairments across K-12 grade levels
- Ability to manage multiple school sites and maintain effective communication with school staff
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and related responsibilities
- Commitment to on-site work; remote work is not available for this position
